Rising Threat of Hezbollah Attacks on U.S

U.S. intelligence reports a growing risk of Hezbollah attacks on American interests, both in the Middle East and possibly the U.S. This Iran-backed group, primarily targeting U.S. personnel in the Middle East, is now also considered a threat on American soil. Intelligence suggests Hezbollah's extensive network could facilitate attacks, differing from lone-wolf assaults by individuals inspired by groups like ISIS or al-Qaeda. Recent tensions in the region increase the likelihood of such attacks. Hezbollah's history includes targeting Americans overseas, notably the 1983 U.S. embassy bombing in Beirut. Increased security measures are in place at the U.S. embassy in Lebanon. The Biden administration, focusing on countering China and Russia, seeks to avoid entanglement in the Middle East but faces challenges as regional conflicts intensify.
